Tatami trivet ideal to add a Japanese touch to the presentation of your dishes. Made in Japan
The tatamis are traditionally made with layers of rice straw superimposed and intertwined then compressed constituting the mattress, called tatami-doko, and covered with a straw mat woven from high quality Juncus effusus ("scattered rush" or Igusa), called tatami-omote. The relatively strong odour of the new tatami is subsequently reduced.
