Maekake is a Japanese garment. The origins of Maekake date back to the 15th century, when fishermen in the Muromachi era cut aprons from old sailcloth to tie around their waists.
Company Name: IWACHU Casting Works
Founded: 2000
Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan
Main activity: Apron manufacturer
Company Description :
Founded in 2000, the company was initially supposed to sell Kanji t-shirts but following a meeting with elderly apron artisans who were leaving the last apron production area in Japan, they decided to resume production. It was from this moment that the company began to produce aprons. However they had a complicated start and they only sold about 10 pieces per me. Around 2006, with changes in fashion and morals, the number of people wanting an apron at work or an apron to give to a family member began to increase and the company experienced a sharp increase in orders.
